Product description
Introducing Studio Ghibli-inspired diorama, realistically reproducing Oiwa’s House, which is featured as one of the main locations in the Ghibli’s movie When Marnie Was There.
This miniature art kit set is a miniature replica of Oiwa’s house. The movie begins with this wooden house built at the seaside where the 12-year-old Anna comes a summer time for healing. Indulge yourself in an assembly of delicately laser-cut hard paper to create cute miniatures without the need for painting. Under the supervision of Studio Ghibli, the details have been carefully paid attention to detail from every 360°. When assembling the pieces, you will bring yourself back to the scenes of the movie.
Oiwa House is particularly fun because it gives you the feeling of building a house. The house itself is large and worth building, but there are many small items such as chairs, a lumber storage area, a sink and more.
The assembled model has a solid texture. You can use the utility knife, tweezer, and glue to assist you with assembling pieces together. Build, decorate and immerse yourself in the world of Ghibli!
This set will keep you engaged for hours, estimating approx. 18 hours of assembling time, and it’ll be great for someone who’s had previous experience in assembling dioramas, given the challenging difficulty level - it’s worth it!
Despite the size and duration, this kit is considered to be relatively easier compared to other kits. The finished design will make you feel accomplished and will look very impressive amongst other collectibles from your favourite anime movies.
This set includes 1 building.

Further information
Oiwa’s house is a house in the Studio Ghibli film When Marnie Was There. It is the home of Setsu and Kiyomasa Oiwa, relatives of Anna Sasaki’s foster parents. The house is located in a rural seaside town in Hokkaido, Japan.
What happens at Oiwa’s house? Anna spends her summer break with her relatives at Oiwa’s house. Anna explores an abandoned mansion across a salt marsh.
Anna meets Marnie, a mysterious girl, at the mansion. Anna sketches Marnie while she dances with a boy at a party at the mansion. Anna and Marnie agree to keep their meetings a secret.
What is the house like? The house is the last house before the sea encroaches on the land. A stone wall protects the house from the tides. The house has dusty sheets over the furniture, a toppled table and chair, and an overgrown lawn. A bright bay window in the upper right corner of the house appears to glow from within.
